Common principles of competitions of jumping to long distance

1.1.In qualifying and main competition, participants perform each attempt in turn.

1.2. Before the beginning of competition every participant has the right to designate and test running distance.

1.3. Running distance is not limited but the participant may not request an extension beyond the run specified in the rules.

1.4.Participant can act only with permission signal of referee.

1.5. All jumps are calculated on the basis of the order of the senior judge “Yes” who will serve after the jump, if the requirements are not violated.

An unaccounted jump is given the “No” command. Simultaneously with the teams, the referee signals the flag; a properly exuceted jump-a white flag and unaccounted jump- a red flag.

1.6. It is not allowed to use any device that contributes to the improvement of the result while running.

 

The place and equipment's of competitions

2.1.The width of the descent line in the long jump is 189-202 mm, length 1.21-1.22 m, thickness 100 m made of wood or other suitable wood made of the material, on the ground with the surface of the runway  will be firmly mounted and painted white.

2.2. A removable plate with plasticine is installed along the entire length ("measuring line") from the edge of the tread line (taking into account the pull side) - an "indicator" of 98-102 mm width, mounted on the runway and 7 mm above the level of the tread. . In low-level competitions, wet sand or soil of the shape and size shown above can serve as an “indicator”.

2.3.Between the barrier and the near edge of the pit  the distance depends on the qualifications of the participants determined by the jury, however so that in the long jump at least 1 m and  from the depressing line to the farthest edge of the pit  The distance should be at least 10 m.

2.4.Calculated from the front edge of the pit The start length of the start of the run is at least 40 m and the width of the corridor should be 1.22 m.

2.5.The long jump pit must be at least 2.75 m wide for one flight and be symmetrical about the path.

2.6The length of the pit in the direction of the jump should be at least 6 m, the depth - 0.5 m. The edge of the pit should be lined with wooden boards. The sand in the pit should be moist and level to the same extent as the runway

Competition process rules

3.1 When there are eight or fewer participants, everyone is eligible to complete six attempts.

3.2.In team competitions, each participant is given three attempts. The best result is taken into account.

3.3.Final places will be distributed according to the best results of all participants (preliminary selection and final). Among the participants who did not reach the final, places are allocated according to the results of the first competition. If two or more participants showed the same best results, the places between them are distributed according to the best result on the remaining attempts (taking into account the preliminary competitions and final results). This rule applies to cases where the second result is equal, and so on.
