CONCLUSIONS
Some occupations are inherently more stressful than others, and some organizations much more stressful places in which to work than others. It is useful to illustrate the kinds of jobs that, all things being equal, are more and less stressful than others (see Table 2.1).
It is clear that many of these are generic job titles, rather than speci fic occupational descriptions. However, it does indicate the inherent extent and potential for stress when individuals and groups with different expertise are employed. The nature of work, and the context in which it is required to be carried out, can therefore be addressed from a much greater level of general understanding, and as a precursor to developing specific remedies.
