Indent the first line like this. Check ALL of the assumptions for the statistical test you are running. Discuss how your data meet or do not meet the assumptions. Even if your data do not meet some of the assumptions, go ahead and proceed with the analysis because the purpose here is to give you the experience of running data analyses with your own data.

Create a table(s) to show the means, standard deviations of all groups and all variables, p-value, and effect size. Refer back to PPT slides from a previous lecture to see examples of the tables. And then, show a bar graph, line graph, or a scatterplot. When comparing two independent means (i.e., if you are using the independent samples t-test), a bar graph is typically used. When comparing pre and posttest results (i.e., if you are using the paired samples t-test), a line graph can be used. If you are examining a relationship (i.e., correlation analysis), show a scatterplot. Briefly summarize what you see in the table and graph. This summary of descriptive statistics should be put right above the table. Do not worry just because your p-value is greater than .05. That is perfectly fine. Just report your data as is and describe as is.

Indent the first line like this. Describe why you think the results turned out the way they did. Do the results match your predictions you made in Part 3? In addition, discuss how your results are similar to or different from the previous study or studies you discussed in the Background section above. Discuss what your findings mean for L2 teaching or future L2 research. That is, what suggestions or recommendations can you make for L2 teachers who read your research paper and for L2 researchers who read your research paper?
