the researcher with the option to utilise an ‘other’
selection within, for
example, a list or a drag-and-drop menu. This is a very useful option to
extend the possible selections in, for example, a list to include data not
included by the researcher that could provide additional insight into the
topic.
Another excellent feature found in Qualtrics is the piped text feature. A
simple example of this might be if a
user was asked to pick their
favourite colour from a list or add their favourite colour through an
additional ‘allow text entry’ option. That input can be ‘piped’ into a
separate question, for instance ‘Would you be more likely to buy a [piped
text] “red” car’?
