THE STATE STANDARD STRUCTURE

The state standard on foreign languages for all levels of education defines:

  aims and objectives of the academic course;

  content of teaching and learning;
  
• 
  requirements for the level of graduates of educational establishments at all stages of education.
  

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

The aim of teaching foreign language at all levels of education of the Republic of Uzbekistan is to develop FL communicative competence (based on its composites – linguistic, sociolinguistic, discourse, strategic, sociocultural, social and study/learning competences) of learners to can function in the multicultural world in everyday, scientific and professional spheres.

Competence presents a set of knowledge, skills and personal qualities enabling the performance of various actions stipulated by certain intentions and goals, including those which are set by the participant of a communication himself.
Communicative competence in foreign language is «the ability and real readiness to carry out foreign language interaction with native speakers, as well as learners’ familiarization of the culture of county/countries of the target language, better understanding of the culture of one’s own country, ability to present it in the process of communication”.
