Lexical side of speech

Knowing and using in speech lexical units, serving the needs of communication setting within the defined topics, basic set expressions, evaluation lexis and cliché as elements of speech etiquette, reflecting the culture of the target country (use and recognition in speech). Shaping primary notions about ways of word formation ((compounds and affixation), about borrowings from other languages (international words).



Grammatical side of speech

Knowing and using in speech basic grammatical and syntactical constructions, main types of a simple sentence (affirmative, interrogatory, imperative), parts of speech related to various communicative settings based on the content areas.

Sociolinguistic competence

Constructing coherent, cohesive and logical utterances of various functional styles in oral and written speech based on the understanding of various text types (songs, short poems, rhymes, riddles, fairy tales, academic texts, forms, instructions to games etc.) while reading and listening; the choice of language forms, their use and modification in accordance with the discourse context related to various communicative settings based on the content areas defined for each grade of primary education.
