Songs help to improve the skills of foreign language pronunciation, develop an 
ear for music. We have noticed that a developed ear for music helps to catch the 
subtlest differences in the pronunciation of foreign sounds. Learning and performing 
short and simple songs with frequent repetitions helps to consolidate the correct 
articulation and pronunciation of sounds, rhythm features, speech tempo, phase stress 
rules, etc.
A song as one of the types of speech communication serves as a way of more 
thorough assimilation and expansion of the lexical stock, as it includes new lexical 
units and expressions, folded in a certain rhyme. Rhythmic music of poems and songs 
helps to quickly learn words, phrases, sentences, correct intonation. In the lyrics, 
familiar vocabulary is found in a new context. This moment helps to activate it in 
similar speech situations.
It was noticed that grammatical constructions were learned better when using 
songs.
Songs and other pieces of music encourage monologic and dialogical 
statements, contribute to the development of both prepared and spontaneous speech. 
In general, they serve as the basis for the development of speech-thinking 
activity.
The songs contribute to the aesthetic education of the audience: the acquisition 
by students of a certain level of knowledge in the art of music, the formation of 
artistic taste.
