Simulated Lighting: Many simulated lighting renders need to have the Quality set 
between 70 percent and 100 percent, especially final renders. In such cases, use the 
automated approach instead. The manual process is still useful for simulated lighting 
draft renders to assess the scenes.

No Dynamic Preview: At times, 
dynamic preview won’t update the 
camera view of a new scene. If this 
happens, start the process over.

Layer Visibility: You will not be able 
to toggle on or off components on lay-
ers and let them update in the render. 
What is visible when the process is 
started will be visible through all of 
the batch scene renders.
automated Batch Rendering
The second approach utilizes Shaderlight’s Animation menu to automate the process. This is 
an ideal way to generate final renderings that take longer to produce at higher quality for both 
exterior and simulated lighting models. The process requires three set-up steps.
1. 
Adjust the SketchUp settings (Fig. 30.7).

Create the desired scenes with saved camera views

Go to View

Settings. This will open Model Info under the Animation tab.
c. 
Enable Scene Transitions and set it to 1 second.
d. 
Set Scene Delay to 0.

Close the menu.

Adjust the Render settings.
These settings are subjective and 
depend on what you are trying to 
render. If you’re doing this for draft 
renders, set the quality and resolution 
lower. Here are some setting sugges-
tions to demonstrate the process:

Open the Shaderlight Render Set-
tings menu.

Set the resolution, lighting, 
and quality as done for typical 
rendering.
