SNOWFLAKES FOR SANDY HOOK
Creatable Crafts in downtown Rehoboth Beach is sponsoring a snowflake making effort for the children and staff from Sandy Hook Elementary School who will be relocated to The Chalk Hill School in Monroe, CT, which is an empty school with no personal items or decorations. Creatable Crafts invites everyone in our community to create a free glass, ceramic or clay snowflake. They will fire all the snowflakes and ship them to Connecticut and will also have paper and directions to create as many paper snowflakes as you would like.
The Connecticut PTSA is creating a winter wonderland for Sandy Hook students when they come to Chalk Hill for the remainder of the school year. They are asking for snowflakes - ceramic, paper, knitted, crafted - to decorate the school. They will hang on windows, bulletin boards, doors and walls, from the ceiling and from desks, and anything else they can think of.
Snowflake making has begun and will continue through January 6, 2013. Creatable Crafts will also be collecting all types of snowflakes that you create at home, until January 6th. On January 7 Creatable Crafts will package all the ornaments and ship them to the Connecticut PTSA. Creatable Crafts is located at 146 Rehoboth Ave. and can be reached at 302-227-1020. Hours to create snowflakes are 12/26 - 12/30 - 10AM – 6PM; 12/31 – 10AM – 4PM; 1/1/13-11AM – 5PM; 1/2 &1/3 closed; 1/4 - 1/6 - 10AM – 6PM
