In order to achieve the building of peace and equitable and sustainable development, UNESCO cooperates with many International Organizations (IGOs), With which it shares the same goals and missions, in a various fields of its competence (education, the sciences, culture and communication), keeping in mind UNESCO's global priorities (Africa, Gender Equality). Over the decades since its inception, UNESCO has forged to strengthen and broaden its cooperation with IGOs, and has concluded formal agreements with 87 IGOs to reinforce its delivery through joint activities at country, regional and global levels.
Recently, UNESCO renewed an agreement with the
Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), one of its major and longstanding partners, to strengthen its collaboration and operational relations with the organization. This new agreement allows both organizations to carry out a more focused programme of cooperation with higher visibility and impact to achieve shared strategic objectives.

M s. Audray Azoulay was appointed as a new DirectorGeneral in November 2017 and she also presents the importance of further reforms of UNESCO. Japan will continue its active support to these efforts. programme Alimentaire
