A research article's methodology section assists the reader in critically evaluating the study's overall validity and dependability. Methodology is a systematic approach to tackling a research problem.
Data Collection Methods:
There are two types of data collection methods used: -
• Primary data collection
• Secondary data collection
Primary Data Collection: The researcher collects primary data to supplement secondary data using a number of methods, including interviews, surveys, and questionnaires. Original data may be found in a variety of forms, including surveys (people, phone, mail), observations (personal and mechanical), experiments (laboratory and field), and so on. Primary data is the information that the investigator collects for the first time. If the investigator uses primary data, they will have the most up-to-date first-hand information about the respondents.
• Direct personal investigation
• Indirect oral interview
• Mailed questionnaire
• Schedules
• Local agencies
Secondary Data Collection: Secondary data is gathered by someone other than the user. It denotes that the data has been gathered and is now being analysed. Secondary data includes magazines, corporate websites, blogs, essays, research papers, newspapers, books, and journals. Secondary data is information collected by the investigator from a separate source. For their study, prior investigators or agents collect data.
Published data are available in various resources including:
• Government publications
• Public records
• Historical and statistical documents
• Business documents
• Technical and trade journals, etc.
Unpublished data includes:
• Letters
• Unpublished biographies, etc.
In this research paper secondary data is used and information is taken from other sources.
