Bootlegger arrested :- Sarai Rohilla police arrested one Rattan Singh, aged 36 years R/o Village Camp Puri P.S. Kishan Garh Distt. Etta(UP) yesterday and recovered illicit liquor from him. According to DCP/North office, he was apprehended from Red Light near Gulabi Bagh Gurudwara when he was carrying 240 halves of illicit liquor in plastic bags on a rickshaw. During interrogation, he revealed that one Dara Singh had given seized liquors for delivering it to someone at J.J. Colony. Further investigation is on.
Burglar arrested :- Timar Pur police arrested one person namely Tek Chand, 20 years R/o Jhuggi, Timarpur on the charges of burglary yesterday. According to DCP/North office, Smt. Kamlesh, Principal of MCD School, Timar Pur, lodged a complaint that on the night of 14.1.08, one UPS of Computer, battery and TV were found stolen from the School. On suspicion one Tek Chand was detained and put to sustained interrogation. He subsequently confessed to having committed burglary along with Pawan and Santosh. The stolen TV has been recovered at his instance. Efforts are on afoot to nab the remaining accomplices. Further investigation is in progress.
Public help is sought in identifying the dead bodies :- New Delhi Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 45 years, Ht. 5’7”, long face, wheatish complexion, thin built, wearing yellow, found on 12.1.08.
New Delhi Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 30/35 years, Ht. 5’5”, round face, wheatish complexion, medium built, wearing grey T-shirt, found on 11.1.08.
Hazarat Nizamuddin Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 20/25 years, Ht. 5’5”, sallow complexion, normal built, wearing white light blue & red stripped shirt and light blue jeans, found on 11.1.08.
Sarai Rohilla Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 22/25 years, Ht. 5’6”, wheatish complexion, round face, stout built, black jacket & grey pants, found on 11.1.08.

THE OPERATION
HC. Dilawar of Inter State Cell, Crime Branch received information that one Suresh Kumar, a habitual criminal, was running a drug trafficking racket from the area of Vivek Vihar, Delhi. The information was further elucidated and found to be authentic. A team comprising SI Anil, ASI Chiranji, ASI Rishi, HC Dilawar, HC Vijender, HC Veerpal, HC Surender, HC Sanjay, HC Naresh, HC Pramod, Ct. Pravez Alam, Ct. Krishan, Ct. Ved Prakash , Ct. Shiv Kumar and Ct. Anil Kumar was constituted under leadership of Inspr. Akshay for the operation.
Acting on specific information a trap was laid near the Vivek Vihar Surya Nagar Crossing and Suresh was spotted and apprehended while he was coming from Surya Nagar side. During his personal search he was found carrying a polythene wrapped parcel containing about 800 grams of fine quality smack.
He was interrogated at the spot and he revealed that he was using a flat in the area of Ram Prasth to prepare and run his nefarious trade. The remaining part of the consignment recovered from him was stored in the flat. At his instance the flat in Ram Prasth (address B-257/B, Ground Floor Ram Prasth, Ghaziabad, UP) was raided and his wife, Nirmala and his other associate namely Bharat were apprehended red handed while they were busy preparing street samples of smack at the flat.
Both Nirmala and Bharat were arrested along with Suresh. Articles/chemicals used for preparing street samples of smack namely, Mixer grinder, weights and measures, colour and utensils were seized from the spot.
Total contraband recovered is about 6.9 kilograms.
THE CRIMINAL PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED.
Suresh Kumar: - The accused is a desperate criminal. He started his criminal career way back in 1986 when he was booked in the area of Farsh Bazar Delhi for running a drug trafficking racket. In the year 2000 he was booked for riot and assault on police officer on duty. There are five criminal cases registered against him in Delhi. He had recently taken a flat at Ram Prasth against the rent of Rs. 2500/- per month to use it as a safe house for his drug trade.
Nirmala Devi:- She is ahead from her husband in the area of crime. She is found to be involved in as many as 10 criminal cases registered in Delhi. She started her criminal career in 1981 when she was booked for liquor smuggling. She was also booked along with her husband for rioting and assault on police officer in the year 2000. She was last booked in 2007 for bootlegging.
Bharat Kumar:- He has also a criminal record and found to be booked in five times for bootlegging. He is a distant relative of Suresh Kumar. He has joined Suresh in his drug traffic racket about a year ago.
A case, vide FIR No. 12/08 dated 16/1/08 u/s 21/61/85 NDPS Act PS. Vivek Vihar Delhi was registered against all the three accused persons.

On 16.01.2008 the Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch, Delhi Police conducted a raid at Shop No. 25-26, Metro Mall, Arya Samaz Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-05. This raid was conducted in pursuance of search warrant u/s 93 Cr. P.C from the Hon’ble Court Sh. Alok Aggarwal ACMM, Tis Hazari in the matter M/s Nokia Corporation Vs Unknown person. The Hon’ble Court had passed order u/s 156(3) Cr. PC to register a case accordingly a case FIR No. 02/08 dt. 04.01.08 u/s 103/104 TM Act 63 Copyright Act, PS EOW was registered. On 16.01.08 Sh. R.C. Dagar complainant/company’s representative informed to the office of TM Section, EOW that Sh. Govind Prakash Singh s/o Sh. Sant Prakash Singh r/o C-45, May Fair Garden, Hauz Khas, New Delhi is selling/stocking infringed, duplicate Nokia mobile phone from his shop No. 25-26, Metro Mall, Arya Samaz Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-05. A raiding team constituted and raid was conducted. The following infringed Nokia mobile phone and accessories have been sized from his possession:-

The raids at the shop and his godown situated at annexe, led to the arrest of Govind Prakash Singh s/o Sh. Sant Prakash Singh r/o C-45, May Fair Garden, Hauz Khas, New Delhi who was found to be involved in the business of selling and stocking fake Nokia phones and accessories. Accused Govind Prakash Singh s/o Sh. Sant Prakash Singh age 28 years r/o C-45, May Fair Garden, Hauz Khas, New Delhi during interrogation has revealed himself as manager of the above shop and the owner of the shop is one Ravinder Singh @ Pamma R/o V-164, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi. Simultaneously a raid was also conducted on the above address but house was found to be locked. Hunt for Sh. Ravinder Singh is continuing.
The modus operandi operated by the accused persons is under investigation which will come above board after the arrest and interrogation of Ravinder Singh.

GANG OF NOTORIOUS THIEVES OF ELECTRIC TRANSFORMER BUSTED
THREE COUNTRY MADE REVOLVERS, 3 LIVE CARTRIDGES, 8 ELECTRIC TRANSFORMERS AND 60 KGS. COPPER RECOVERED
Najafgarh Police has busted a gang of notorious thieves by arresting (1) Sonu r/o Gurgaon (2) Vikas @ Vicky r/o Vill. Rangpuri (3) Babloo r/o Khurja, U.P. (an arms supplier) and recovered 3 country made Revolvers alongwith 3 live cartridges including 8 Electric Transformers and one Kabari (receiver of stolen property) namely Desh Raj r/o Mahipal Pur, Delhi was also arrested at their instance with whom 60 kilograms copper was recovered.
With a view to check the increasing incidents of transformers thefts in the area, the staff was sensitized and a special team was constituted. On 11/01/08 at 10.00 PM, the team comprising of ASI Dilbagh Singh, HC Dinesh No.259/SW, HC Bijender No.1680/SW and Ct. Arun No.1687/SW were checking at Goyla Dairy Picket, Ganda Nala where two persons were found coming from Dwarka, Sector-19 towards Najafgarh Goyla Dairy. One of them was carrying a bag in his hand. On seeing the police party both the persons tried to escape from the spot who were overpowered by the staff. Two country made revolvers and live cartridges were recovered from their possession. On checking of the bag, suspicious articles like ropes, plash, screw-drivers and bunch of keys were recovered. They were arrested vide case FIR No. 18/08 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act and FIR No. 19/08, u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Najafgarh and 8 electric transformers were recovered at their instance. One Kabari (receiver of stolen goods) namely Deshraj r/o Mahipal Pur, Delhi was also arrested and 60 Kgs. copper was recovered from his possession.
They further disclosed that they had taken the Arms from one Arms supplier namely Babloo r/o Khurja (U.P.). The accused Babloo was also apprehended and one country made pistol with 1 live cartridge recovered from his possession and he was also booked vide FIR No. 20/08 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Najafgarh. He further, disclosed that he had bought these arms from Khurja, (UP).
With the arrest of these thieves, supplier of arms and receiver of stolen property, Najafgarh Police has been able to instill confidence among the public of rural areas of Najafgarh.

DESPERATE AND HARDENDED CRIMINALS APPREHENDED RED HANDED
With the arrest of (1) Azad Singh aged 25 years s/o Jabbar Singh r/o Vill. Jabghirabad, Buland Shahar, UP; (2) Abid Ali aged 23 years s/o Jabbar Ali r/o H.No. 1212, Gali No.46, Jafrabad, Delhi and (3) Naushad aged 40 years s/o Zamil r/o Khazoor Wali Gali, Jafrabad, Balmiki Basti, Delhi, North East District police has been able to apprehended desperate and hardcore criminals and thereby thwart an incident of heinous crime.
TEAM & INCIDENT
A team consisting of Ct. Ashok Kumar, DHG Ct. Deepak Kumar and DHG Ct. Sunil Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Sushil Chand Sharma, SHO/New Usman Pur.
On 16.01.2008, Const Ashok Kumar alongwith two DHG Constables Deepak Kumar and Sunil Kumar were deployed for night patrolling duty to keep sharp vigil on the activities of antisocial elements. During patrolling, when they reached near the corner of Gali No. 9, Balmiki Basti, Ghonda, 3 suspicious persons were found roaming in the area. One of them made a gesture of 'BYE BYE' and indicated the same to Const Ashok Kumar. After going four five steps ahead, the said accused repeated the same action. The Constable became suspicious on his activities and asked them to stop for checking but they started running towards Dr Ambedkar Basti, Balmiki Mandir. The Constable along with DHG staff chased them. As the Constable tried to catch one of the accused later identified as Naushad, he immediately took out a sharp edge dagger and tried to stab the Constable but the Const overpowered him by showing exemplary courage and presence of mind. Meanwhile, the other two Home Guard Constable came from other side and tried to apprehend another person later identified as Azad Khan but he took out a country made pistol and cocked the same to fire upon the police staff but the police staff showing more sensibility, grabbed the loaded pistol from the accused and overpowered him with the help of local resident who also gathered at the spot after listening the shouting of Const. Ashok Kumar. Watching this murderous assault on police, the public got agitated and started beating the accused persons. During this process, the third accused later identified as Abid Ali hid himself in a nearby house by scaling the wall but the police staff with public chased and caught him from the said house. Subsequently, a case attempt to murder and intervening in the Govt. duties was registered at PS NU Pur and investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION
During investigation, the identity of the accused persons was revealed as (1) Azad Singh, (2) Abid Ali and (3) Naushad. On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that accused Azad Singh is B.C. of P.S. Welcome having previous involvement in 9 cases of murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act etc. All the accused persons are active criminals of the area and on the day of their apprehension, they were going to commit some heinous crime but due to alertness of the police staff, all were apprehended.
The previous involvement of other two accused persons Abid Ali and Naushad are being verified.

New Usman Pur which was reported on 13.01.08.
TEAM & INCIDENT
A team consisting of Inspr. Sushil Chand Sharma, SHO/New Usman Pur, Inspr. Law & Order Ajay Kumar Singh, SI Nawal Singh, SI Sharif Ahmed, HC Parath Singh, Ct. Naresh Kumar, Ct. Satish Rana, Ct. Narender, Ct. Subhash Chand, Ct. Pradeep and Ct. Manbir was constituted under the supervision of Shri Data Ram, ACP/Seelam Pur.
On 13.01.08 at 8:20 AM, a telephonic call was received at PS NU Pur that a dead body was lying near the hospital, near Shastri Park ground. On reaching the spot, SI Sharif Ahmed found the dead body of an unknown male aged about 25-30 years, height 5'6”, wheatish complexion, long face and medium built. The deceased had injuries near his left eye, ear & at the back of his head and also on the right side of stomach & back apparently caused by a sharp object. His face was in a pool of blood. He was wearing black colour pent & black socks. He was half naked from upper waist part. Rs 830/- was found from the pocket of his pent. His right wrist was having a Hindi tattoo “Sanjeev”. A blood stained stone, a broken leather belt & two belt monograms & one gray colour Jeans Pant having blood on it were also found. No eye-witness was present at the spot. Subsequently, a case of murder was registered at P.S. New Usman Pur and investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION
Initially, there was no clue about the identity of the deceased person. The information regarding dead body was published in the newspaper on the basis of which, one Rakesh Kumar came in the police station and as per the details mentioned in the newspaper, he identified the dead body as his brother-in-law Sanjeev aged 25 years s/o Hira Lal r/o H-105A, Gali No.10, Braham Puri, Delhi. During verification of the deceased, it was revealed that he was a pick-pocket and burglar and it was also revealed that he might be murdered due to rivalry by some other group.
On 16.01.08, a secret information was received that the accused persons involved in this murder were present in Nand Gaon, Ghaziabad, UP. On receipt of this information, a team consisting of above mentioned police officers was constituted and the police team was immediately dispatched to the spot where nine accused persons identified as (1) Umesh, (2) Kanhaiya, (3) Manoj, (4) Sonu @ Muchchmunda, (5).Rajeev and four juveniles (6) Dhira (name changed), (7) Mola (name changed), (8) Tinku (name changed) and (9) Mintu (name changed) were apprehended.
During sustained interrogation, it was established that the deceased Sanjeev was having enmity with his rival pickpocket gang members mentioned above. In the recent past, he had abused and challenged one of the above said gang member (name withheld being a juvenile). This had enraged the gang leader Umesh who was looking for an opportunity to settle the score. In the night of 12.01.2008, when the foundation day of Bhairon Baba was being celebrated at Bhairon Mandir near Purana Quila, Delhi, these pickpockets were having their field day taking advantage of the huge crowd gathered at the Mandir. At around 3 A.M. the gang leader Umesh saw his rival deceased Sanjeev at Bhairon Mandir. He grabbed him and after initial thrashing with the help of his above said associates, he lifted Sanjeev in a TSR DL-1RK-5121 specially kept there for this purpose. The deceased Sanjeev was brought to the vacant place near Shastri Park and they all dragged him by catching hold of his hair and hit him with stone on his head and neck. They beat him with their wearing belt also. When he started bleeding profusely, they fled away leaving the deceased Sanjeev at the spot.

Umesh s/o Laxman r/o B-Block, Gali No.7, Ist Pushta, New Usman Pur, Delhi is 19 years old. He studied upto 11th standard. His father had expired at an early age due to poverty and thereafter, he resorted to pick-pocketing and other crime to meet the expanses of his family.

Kanhaiya s/o Onkar r/o E-69, Gali No.5, Hanuman Gali, Jagjeet Nagar, New Usman Pur, Delhi is 19 years old. He left his schooling after 4th standard and fell into bad company of Umesh and started committing pick-pocketing to earn quick money.

Manoj s/o Nathu Ram r/o C-360/8, Gali No.11, Ist Pushta, New Usman Pur, Delhi is 19 years old. He has studied upto 7th standard and thereafter started committing pick-pocketing. He groomed his gang members by enabling them to stay at a safe place which he had hired at Nandgram in Ghaziabad, UP.

Sonu @ Muchhmunda s/o Ram Prasad r/o C-Block, Bhajan Pura, Delhi is 19 years old. He has studied upto 7th standard. The financial condition of his family was very poor and no means of livelihood was available for him. Soon, he resorted to committing crime to earn quick money.

Rajeev s/o Rishi Pal r/o Near Govt. Primary School, Khanna Nagar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP is 21 years old. He is a TSR driver and assists his associates in picking up in the TSR as and when required and he stays with them till they finish their work and come back after pick-pocketing.

Dhira (name changed) aged 17 years r/o New Usman Pur, Delhi is a juvenile and played an active role for his associates in committing pick-pocketing.

DUPLICATE INFRINGED PACKING MATERIAL / PRODCUTS OF TATA COMPANY WORTH APPROX. RS. TWO LACS RECOVERED IN HUGE QUANTITY : TWO TRADERS ARRESTED
With the arrest of Buta Singh, aged 58 years s/o Gurbachan Singh r/o H. No. 108, West Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, and (2) Rajeev Raj Pal s/o T. R. Raj Pal r/o F 52, Prashant Vihar, Delhi, North District police has busted a case in which traders of Kashmere Gate are involved in selling duplicate products of Tata Motors Company and recovered 12 Bundles of wrappers of Tata Motors Ltd and 30 packets of gaskets wrapped in duplicate wrappers from their possession.
TEAM AND THE INCIDENT
A team consisting of Inspr. Amar Deep Sehgal, Incharge/Special Staff/North, SI Joginder Singh, HC Anil Kumar, HC Sanjay Kumar, Ct. Ravi Khari, Ct. Aadesh, Ct. Daljeet and Ct Anil was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. S. S. Malik, ACP/Operations /North District, Delhi.
A specific information was received that various persons in North District area are involved in the manufacturing / dealing and selling of spurious/counterfeit automotive parts and packing material purportedly manufactured by M/s Tata Motors Ltd.
On the basis of the discreet enquiry and at about 5.30 PM on 15-01-2008 the police team conducted a raid at shop no. 74 Ist Floor, Guru Nanak Market, Kashmere Gate, Delhi and apprehended one person namely Rajeev Raj Pal and on the search, two bundles of duplicate wrappers of Tata Motors and 30 packets of duplicate gaskets of Tata wrapped in duplicate wrappers were recovered from his shop. Further, another raid was conducted at shop no. 176/1, Gali Burme Wali, Kashmere Gate, Delhi of Buta Singh s/o Gurbachan Singh and 10 bundles of duplicate wrappers of Tata Motors Ltd. were recovered from the shop. A case under Copy Right Act was registered against the accused persons at PS Kashmere Gate and the investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION AND THE INTERROGATION
During sustained interrogation, accused person Buta Singh, aged 58 years s/o Shri Gurbachan Singh disclosed that he is running a unit in the name and style of Narang Plastic Industries at Dheer Pur village and retail outlet at Kashmere Gate. In order to earn more money, he started manufacturing duplicate wrappers of TATA Motors Ltd as he was able to sell it in the retail market in Kashmere Gate.
Accused Rajeev Raj Pal s/o Shri T R Raj Pal r/o F 52, Prashant Vihar, Delhi disclosed that he is running a shop of auto parts in Kashmere Gate. To make more money, he started buying duplicate wrappers of Tata Motors Ltd from Buta Singh and started selling gaskets after packing the same in duplicate wrappers of Tata Motors Ltd.
