Annotation.
From the earliest stages of 
learning any language, writing and spelling 
skills in that language are developed. 
Writing is a reproductive form of speech 
activity that is used to teach listening, 
speaking, and reading. Achieving these 
skills in students is one of the primary goals 
of primary school. However, students of 
schools with a different language of 
instruction in the 2nd grade study 2 writing 
systems at once - the English alphabet based 
on the Latin alphabet and the letters of the 
Uzbek alphabet based on the Latin alphabet, 
that is, since two versions of the Latin 
alphabet are taught in one class, students get 
used to using a mixture English and Uzbek 
Latin letters and spelling rules. This leads to 
a sharp decline in literacy and a complete 
inattention to calligraphy. Since the 
formation of writing skills is a long and 
laborious process, according to the author, it 
is necessary first to develop skills related to 
mastering the writing system of one 
language during the year, and in the second

year – to develop writing skills in a second 
language. To do this, it is necessary to start 
teaching the Uzbek language from the 1st 
grade, work only on oral speech in the first 
half of the 1st grade, that is, to form the 
norms of correct pronunciation and 
vocabulary, start teaching writing in the 
second half of the 1st grade. After the 
students have mastered the pronunciation of 
speech sounds in the Uzbek Latin alphabet 
and the forms of upper and lower case 
letters for six months, they will be able to 
work on English letters and writing skills 
next year.
