Away
is not here, aside means 'to one side' and
by
means 'near' or
'close'.
To have some money put away, put aside or put by means to have some
money saved in a bank, put under the bed, or in a dirty old sock.
set aside
means exactly the same.
But, put away has another, less friendly meaning.
Jimmy's uncle was put away for seven years.
It means that he is in prison. The Law put him away.
