Eligible Wrestlers

Any wrestler who has participated in the equivalent of four (4) of the eight (8) league meets shall be eligible. Any wrestler that turns 15 years of age prior to January 1st of the current wrestling season are not eligible to participate in this League tournament.

Coaches will be required to enter their wrestlers using the official tournament entry form before 6:30 PM, Friday, March 3^rd!
Do not send in your team’s weekly roster. Make sure you use the official entry form.

Weigh-ins

The weigh-ins will be held at Skyline High School and South Berkley From 6-9 PM on Wednesday March 8^th.

  No team weigh-ins are required, entries can weigh-in any time within the time period specified.

  All entries will be allowed on the scales as many times as needed during the weigh in period.

  A weight allowance of 0.6 pounds shall be given

  Must Weigh-in in a singlet

  If a wrestler does not make his/her specified weight, he/she may move up or down one weight class.

  Skin, hair, and nails shall be checked at weigh-ins with any violations noted.

Seeding Meeting

The seeding meeting will be held by South Berkley on Thursday, March 9^th before the tournament. Seedings shall be according to Overall and In-Weight records, a wrestlers rating during the season, and any head-to-head match ups during the season or in any tournaments.

Location information will be sent at a later date.
Registration Fee

A $25 per wrestler registration fee will be paid at the seeding meeting. Each team will be required to pay with one check made out to Skyline Wrestling Club. Any team who has not paid their entry fees are ineligible to compete.

Admission and Passes

Admission will be Adult $5 for one day, $7 for a two-day pass, Under 12 $3 per day, Under 5 free.

Coach’s passes will be handed out at the seeding meeting. Each team will receive 1 coach pass per 10 wrestlers entered. Additional coach’s passes will be available for purchase at $10 per pass. Each team must provide a list of table workers. Table workers must check in by name at the gate and will be admitted for free the day of their shift.

Awards Ceremony

Following each wrestler’s final match, they should proceed to the auditorium for their awards ceremony. A row in the auditorium will be designated for the wrestler’s weight class. Once all award winners in a weight class are seated they will be escorted up on stage for the awards ceremony. Each wrestler is expected to be in their team’s uniform if uniforms are provided.

Building Information

The coaches meeting will take place in the hospitality room. Exit main entrance to gym, go right, and then go left down the hallway between the auditorium and the cafeteria. Locker room hallway can be found by going through doors next to Mat 2. Please store your team’s food and coolers in the hallway near the trophy cases. Please remind your team not to exit the farside of the cafeteria into the school.

Entertainment

A Vendor and Craft Show will be going on in the adjacent cafeteria with daily raffle prizes. We plan to have therapists with seated massage chairs. At 8:40 AM each day on mat 1 Tim Pierson will provide a short overview of the benefits of freestyle wrestling with some demonstrations and explanation. Any team that is associated with a spring freestyle club is encouraged to bring flyers to put on a table to advertise their club during the presentation.

I-66 East to Exit 6 – Front Royal Exit, South on 340/522, stay on 340 South, Follow signs to Skyline Caverns, To stay on 340 you will have to take a left at a light following the bridges followed by a 90 degree right curve and go through downtown Front Royal, when you exit downtown and pass the 7-11 the school will be less then a mile on your right.
From I-66:

I-66 West to exit 13 – Left off the exit then right onto VA-55 West – Stay on 55 until it dead ends in Front Royal – Turn Left onto 340 S - when you exit downtown and pass the 7-11 the school will be less then a mile on your right.
