Lesson plan:
This lesson in a motivating way by using applications, allowing students to discuss issues, share their opinions and ideas and then do some online activities to finish the lesson or as a homework task.
Aims:
to develop students’ spoken fluency and use of modals for advice.
to develop higher level critical thinking skills by ranking a series of tips in order of importance.
to encourage students to think about the importance of learning English by applications.
Age: Teenagers
Level: CEF level A2 and above
Time: 50-60 minutes
Materials: Mobile device, notebook, program “LinguaLeo” and poster.
Procedure:

Before the lesson

Download the application “LinguaLeo” from
https://lingualeo.com/ru/mobile
You will need one notebook per student of the exercises and notes.

1.Warmer (5-10
minutes)

Dictate the following themes of texts or write them of TED Talks on the board for students.
Explain that these themes are all related to today’s lesson theme.
Students discuss their ideas in their groups and make suggestions about the theme of TED Talks.

2. (20-30
minutes)

Tell students that you are going to show them a poster about themes. Before they read the poster they are going to do a preparation activity. Students do the preparation activity from the worksheet focusing on vocabulary from the text.
Students then look at the themes (on the list of TedTalks) and do activities. Activities are based on the theme of certain TED Talk.

3. (10-15
minutes)

Students work in pairs or small groups to classify the eight questions from the most useful part of TED Talk. Explain that they can include more than one question in any position.
Conduct feedback as a whole class. Elicit ideas for other information for certain theme. Encourage all pairs or groups to make a project.

4. (15 minutes)

Let students make their own project about there theme.

5.Performanse (10- 15 minutes)

Give each pair or group of students a time for performance.
Students make a project activity to practice the vocabulary they have learnt. If necessary, model the activity with a strong student.
