GUEST CHARGES, PAYMENT, AND CHECK-OUT
Traditionally and subject to availability, a late check-out of one or several hours
may be granted. Policies for when and by whom late check-outs are granted must be
established by the FOM. The goal of the policies should be to accommodate regis-
tered guests while recognizing that housekeeping staff must clean late check-out
rooms without incoming guests encountering long waits for their rooms.
Guest check-out is typically straightforward, especially if the guest’s form of pay-
ment was confirmed at check-in, if credit monitoring has taken place regularly, and
if ongoing and thorough bucket checks have verified guest information.
