Recruitment and Selection
The process of recruitment refers to activities designed to alert potential job appli-
cants to employment opportunities within the hotel.
FRONT OFFICE SEMANTICS
Recruitment:
Activities designed to attract qualified applicants for vacant positions within the hotel.
In large hotels with human resources departments, much of the responsibility
for recruitment is assigned to specialists within that department. In smaller prop-
erties without a human resources department, recruitment becomes another respon-
sibility of the FOM, who interacts with the supervisor to whom the employee will
report. The number of vacancies for a position depends on the turnover rate for
that position.
