phraseological unit that belongs to the group of independent
words: burgaga achchiq qilib, ko‘rpaga o‘t qo‘ymoq, tarvuzi
qo‘ltig‘idan tushmoq; every cloud has a silver lining are
denotative, turgan gap, shunga qaramay; as a matter of fact as
independent phraseological units serve only a grammatical
function.
The phraseological structure of the language has a
very wide meaning and stylistic nuances. Phraseological units
and words should not be considered as completely equivalent.
Because phraseological units are not always a substitute for
words. Phraseological units and words have many differences
in structure and meaning, and their morphological and
syntactic functions also vary. Depending on their content,
words are formed as a whole, and phraseological units are
formed separately as sentences and phrases. These features are
reflected in their pronunciation and spelling.
A phraseological unit consists of more than one
independent word. However, its meaning is not a simple sum
of its constituent meanings. For example, the English phrase
―to have a finger in every pie‖ (qo‘yniga qo‘l solmoq) does
not mean to have, a finger, in, every, pie and is not a synthesis
or addition. The meaning of a phraseological unit is formed by
the fact that the word that makes it up is used in full or in part
in a figurative sense. For example, trying to find out what
someone thinks is like trying to find out what is going on. As a
result, the free combination of touching the sheep specializes
in expressing another content that is similar to the self-
perceived content, and the device becomes a phraseological
unit and in ―to have a finger in every pie‖ phraseological unit
we can see a similar relationship.
Phraseological units can also be formed as a result of
some words in a figurative sense being used by others in their
own sense. For example, in phraseological units ―aqlini
yemoq, og‘zi qulog‘ida‖ or ―jockey for position‖, the words
―aql‖, ―og‘iz‖ or ―position‖, ―job‖ are in their original
meanings, the words ―yemoq‖, ―qulog‘ida‖ and ―jockey‖ are
figurative.
Sometimes a device that expresses the result of an
action situation becomes a phraseological unit. For example, a
person may bite his finger out of regret. These include: ―tishini
tishiga qo‘ymoq‖, ―labiga uchuq toshmoq‖ or ―to show one‘s
teeth‖.
Some phraseological units are also formed on the basis
of different religious beliefs, concepts, narrations. For
example, ko‘z tegmoq, ko‘zi uchmoq; devil‘s advocate, a
voice crying out in the wilderness.
