But look what happened in day two:

copies! In other 
words, a printer 
could produce in 
two days what it 
would have taken 
the scribe 100 days
to produce. That is the power of leverage! 
In the pipeline-building model, the ratio between 
effort and result is no longer 1:1. When we use 
leverage, the effort remains the same, but the result 
can be 100 times greater… 1,000 times greater… or 
even millions of times greater! 
Two Kinds of Leverage: Time and Money 
The root word for leverage – 
lever
– comes from an 
old French word meaning “to make lighter,” which 
is an apt description of the power of leverage. By 
employing a lever, a big load can be made so light 
that a child could easily move it. 
When we apply the principle of leverage to time 
and money, the same thing happens – the results are 
compounded.
