The results of the study showed high strength materials, if polyamide was used as a 
binder. When replacing polyamide, polypropylene or high density polyethylene, the 
discontinuous elongation of non-woven materials increases by approximately 1.3 times. If a low 
density polyethylene was taken as a binder, then their strength is 4 times lower than that of 
materials with a binding polyamide glue. Nonwovens are destroyed, mainly on the binder and 
only partially on the fibers. A similar result was obtained in the study of zones of destruction of 
samples using a microscope. We note in this regard that the values of the tensile strength of 
polyamide, polypropylene, high density polyethylene and low density polyethylene, measured at 
20 ° C, is 34 MPa; 25 MPa, 22.7 MPa and 12 MPa, respectively. 
Of all the studied materials, non-woven materials based on silk are the highest strength, 
their strength exceeds the strength of materials based on lavsan and viscose fibers in 1.1 and 1.4 
times, respectively. It is interesting to note, in this regard, that the strength of silk fiber is 
somewhat inferior to the strength of lavsano fiber and, respectively, 350-400 MPa, while the 
strength of lavsan and viscose fiber is 400-580 MPa and 320-370 MPa, respectively. According 
to deformable nonwoven materials based on silk, it is also better than nonwoven materials from 
viscose, although inferior in this regard materials from lavsan fiber. Even a partial replacement 
of chemical fibers on natural silk waste allows noticeable to increase the strength of non-woven 
materials. This circumstance is most clearly manifested in the study of the physical and 
mechanical properties of non-woven materials from the mixtures of viscose fiber with natural 
silk waste.
