In addition, due to the recognition of the role of the republic in the world 
tourism industry in 2004, the UNWTO Regional Office for Coordination of Tourism 
Development on the Silk Road was opened in Samarkand.45. It should be noted that 
such an office exists only in two countries - Japan and Uzbekistan. Its main task is to 
identify areas for the development of not only regional but also international tourism.
The existence of more than seven thousand objects of tangible cultural heritage 
of different periods and civilizations, including the historical centers of Bukhara, 
Khiva, Samarkand and Shakhrisabz, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is 
confirmed by the potential of Uzbekistan. The world-famous historical monuments, 
modern cities, the unique nature of Uzbekistan, the unique national cuisine, as well as 
the gentle hospitality of our people attract tourists.
These changes can be seen to have accelerated over the last three years. In 
particular, at the initiative of the President, the tourism infrastructure has risen to a 
higher level. In particular, 1176 tourist organizations, including 621 tour operators, 555 
hotel facilities are successfully operating in the country.46.
There are also 10,951 resorts, including 205 parks, 34 eco-parks, 63 swimming 
pools, 43 water attractions, 120 museums, 17 youth camps, 450 modern restaurants and 
cafes, 95 cinemas and theaters. , 52 entertainment centers, 168 modern dormitories, 
8850 handicraft workshops, 64 agro-tourism sites, 655 tourist vehicles (231 buses, 284 
minibuses, 30 electrical appliances, 4 two-storey, 5 ski resorts, 62 water sports), as well 
as horseback riding and camel farms Bayonne47.
In addition, more than 8,000 cultural heritage sites, more than 100 universities, 
more than 1,000 summer camps, many sports facilities and recreation areas will help 
attract young tourists. If we make a comparative analysis over the years, in 2017, the 
growth rate of youth among foreign visitors averaged 4 percent, while in 2018 the 
figure increased by 12 percent to 1,525,000.
In 2019, more than 1.75 million foreign tourists visited the country48.
