Annotation
. The article presents the results of studies of the fauna and 
ecology of terrestrial mollusks of the Bradybaenidae
 
family, common in the 
Fergana Valley.

Today, in the context of the growing negative impact of mankind on the 
environment, the preservation of the biodiversity of flora and fauna remains an 
urgent issue.

Faunistic and ecological research is of great importance in determining the 
biodiversity of plant or animal species in a given territory. For this reason, we 
aimed to study the distribution, faunistic composition and ecological features in the 
Fergana Valley of species belonging to the family of terrestrial mollusks 
Bradybaenidae 
(Pilsbry, 1978). Most of the representatives of this family are 
considered endemic to Central Asia [1, 144].
For the study, more than 200 specimens of terrestrial mollusks were 
collected, collected in different parts of the Fergana Valley during 2018-2020. The 
molluscs were harvested using tweezers and by hand. When determining the 
species and studying its ecological features, the monographs of Schileyko [2, 119], 
Pazylov and Azimov [1,143] were used. 
As a result of our research, it was found that the Fergana Valley is inhabited 
by 10 species belonging to the genera 
Ponsadenia 
(Schileyko, 1978) and 
Bradybaena
(Beck, 1837) of the family 
Bradybaenidae
. Below is information 
about the features of the species composition and ecology.

rubble areas with sparse vegetation; in hot weather and for the winter, it burrows 
into the soil to a depth of 10-12 cm.
