It is also worth mentioning that there are lots of raw materials in our country to
produce sustainable detergents. And one of them is peach seed oil. As far as the area
producing peach is concerned, it holds the third common one among fruits. Peach is
one of the most common fruit throughout the world with a harvest of 12 million tons
annually. Considering that the kernel is made up 5% of a peach, the 600,000 tons of
kernels will be available annually [3]. Thus, if we take into account the fact that the
oil accounts for 20-60% of the kernel [4], we can say that a great deal of peach seed
oil will be available to use in a sustainable way. As peach seed oil contains 41.2 mg
% of hydrogen cyanide, it will pose a threat to use it in food industry. However, the
valuable fatty acids, such as oleic acid
(w-9)
and linoleic acid
(w-6)
, are present in the
oil. Consequently, this makes the oil beneficial to the human skin. Moreover, this

content makes the oil suitable to be used as a raw material to produce detergents,
namely dish detergents.
Considering the information to be gathered, the samples of detergents are made with
a mixture of cotton-seed-oil fatty acids, and peach-seed oil according to the following
proportion:

As it can be seen from the table is that the properties of the samples meet the
requirements of detergents, especially dish detergents. Dish detergents are usually
obtained by the samples given above. And, oil mixtures are retreated with NaOH
while producing detergents. In order to make the products more attractive, the special
essences are added that makes the products smell and look good. All the samples are
analyzed according to the state standards and the results were compered. The table
below illustrates the optimums.
