GUEST CHARGES, PAYMENT, AND CHECK-OUT
Second, if a guest questions the amount he or she agreed to pay after
check-out, the signed folio provides evidence that the guest understood the
hotel’s charges. Additional paperwork may include signatures on safe-deposit
box returns, check approval codes, or currency conversion computations.
FRONT OFFICE SEMANTICS
Currency conversion:
Process of accepting payment for charges computed in one currency but paid in
the currency of another. A European traveler visiting New York City, for example, who wished to pay a
bill in Euro dollars rather than in U.S. dollars, would require a
currency conversion if the hotel provided
this type of service.
