THISCO (The Hotel Industry Switch Company)
Now called Pegasus Solutions, this
organization is the most frequently used “switch” to interface information from all hotel
and airline systems.
Time-share property
Lodging property that sells a part ownership (e.g., one week within a
specified time period) in a unit within the property. Also called interval ownership property.
Tipped position
Position in which the incumbent routinely receives a gratuity from a
guest based on, at least in part, the quality of service that was rendered. The word tip is an
acronym for “to insure promptness.”
