Julie received her associate of science degree in hotel and restaurant management and her bachelor of science degree in
hospitality management from Johnson and Wales University. She began her Hyatt career in 1989 as a corporate management
trainee. After completing that program, she held various rooms division positions, including assistant front office manager,
front office manager, assistant/executive housekeeper, hotel assistant manager, and convention services floor manager. Her
first management committee position was rooms executive at the Hyatt Deerfield (300 rooms). She also served as rooms
executive at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati and helped open the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place (Chicago), where she
served as rooms executive. She was promoted to her present general manager position 10 years after joining the company.
