FRONT OFFICE SEMANTICS
Overflow (hotel):
Guestrooms that are part of a larger group booking that cannot be accommodated by a
single hotel. Room rates for overflow rooms are often established at a rate similar to that of the hosting hotel.
Transient guests rent the largest number of guestrooms offered by limited-service
hotels. Traditionally, these guests are classified as corporate or leisure travelers. Nearly all
the limited-service hotel brands market to both types of guests. A hotel’s location, ameni-
ties offered, and pricing structure significantly affect its ability to attract such guests.
