Carrier (telephone)
Company providing a hotel’s telephone service. In many areas this will
be a local carrier (for local calls) and a separate, designated, long-distance carrier. The
telecommunications industry continues to consolidate services; thus, some hotels now use
the same carrier for local and long-distance calls.
