Each housekeeper is responsible for assessing the occupancy of all rooms assigned to
him or her. The assumed status is shown on the room status report provided by the

front office, and physical entry into the room verifies the information. At this time,
the housekeeper should make these observations:
•
Whether the room is vacant and ready, ready to be cleaned, or occupied (i.e.,
luggage is in the room)
•
If the room is a sleep out (i.e., the room’s bed was not used)
•
Whether immediate maintenance, room repair, or furniture or fixture replace-
ment is necessary
•
Other relevant assessments
