Types of Reports
The kinds of information needed to make management decisions may vary by hotel
department.The following reports are representative of those that are in common use and
that are created and distributed daily, weekly, or monthly by the night auditor: emergency,
revenue generation, reservation activity, exception, and management-oriented.
Emergency Reports
Emergency reports, also called downtime reports, are reports that the night auditor
and FOM hope will never be needed. They act as insurance against the difficulties
that would be result if the PMS severely malfunctioned or if an emergency such as a
fire or explosion caused an immediate need for critical information. Following are
some examples of emergency reports.
