under, between, on the right/left; describe the location of the buildings; draw the scheme of a place where one lives

 The Procedure of the lesson: 

I. Organizing moment: - Greeting. 

- Checking the register 

- Checking homework and asking words from previous lesson 

 

II. Pre-Activity  

Activity 1 Listen, point and say.  

Objective: to introduce the new prepositions of place: opposite, next to 

STEP 1: Explain the meaning and use of the preposition "opposite". Ask the pupils to open their textbooks at Page 73 

and look at the picture in Activity 1. Point to the building which describes a computer club and say: 'This is a 

computer club.' Then point to the picture of the library and say: 'This is a library. The library's opposite the computer 

club.' Then point to the sports club and say: 'The sports club's opposite the computer club, too.' Then point to the 

playground and say: 'The playground's opposite the school.' Point to the window in the class and say: 'The window's 

opposite to the door.' Point to the board and say: 'The board's opposite my table.' etc. STEP 3: Then explain the meaning 

and use of the preposition "next to". Ask the pupils to look at the picture again. Point to the library and the house and say: 

'The library's next to the house.' Then ask the pupils to find in the class the things which are next to each other (the desk is 

next to the pupil is next to ... etc).
