Activity 3a Look, listen and repeat. 5 min 

Objective: to introduce the new vocabulary of the lesson 

STEP 1: Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and s.ay what they are in their mother tongue. After they have recognised 

them correctly, you can have them listen and repeat the words (a willow, a tulip, a rose, a mulberry) after you/the DVD in 

chorus, rows and individually as usual. 

Write on the board: [л] - bus, cut, mulberry, [ju:] - pupil, tulip. Drill the words and 

sounds drawing the pupils‘ attention to the different sounds of the same letter. 

STEP 2: Then you can ask th

e pupils to do ―Point and say‖ activity in pairs.
