adequately perceive oral speech and be able to transmit the contents of
the heard text in a compressed or expanded form in accordance with the situation of
communication;
choose and use language tools in accordance with the communicative
task and the communication situation;
own monologue and dialogic speech, observing ethical standards of
communication;
own the skills of a conscious, fluent reading of texts of various styles and
genres, conduct their information and semantic analysis;
create written statements adequately transmitting the content of the
listened or read text with a given degree of specification; make a plan, abstracts,
summaries; speak English at the level of functional literacy.
The advantage developing communicative skills enhances students' motivation,
helps establish interdisciplinary connections, promotes the development of cognitive
activity, imagination, self-discipline, teamwork skills, as well as the study of
mentality, attitudes, behavior, values, the culture of the student language.
In foreign language classes at the university, by mastering oral competence the
teacher should create learning situations that help students acquire knowledge, skills
in various types of speech activity. The best option developing a foreign language is
to study in a natural language environment. In Higher Education, language training is
carried out mainly outside the natural language environment, therefore the principle
of authenticity is implemented, which involves the use of authentic study guides and
materials; arrangement of classrooms; authentic newspapers, magazines, items, the
availability of technical training tools for listening and viewing foreign audio and
video materials.
Language conditions imply a constant speech practice of students, the speech
orientation of all exercises, the use of communicative material, the constant activation
of students' speech-cognitive activity, and the speech nature of the lesson.So, the
starting point of any activity, and, consequently, speech, is the motive that induces
and directs the activity. Communicative motivation is of great importance in learning
foreign language. It is associated with the satisfaction received by students from
using the language as a means of communication.
Considering the above mentioned factors here we consider the essential factors
effecting the process of developing communicative competences of the students of
non-philological faculties of Higher Education:
