Section 140 
1. 
Participation in an organisation which has as its purpose the commission of serious offences, 
shall be punishable by a term of imprisonment not exceeding six years or a fine of the fifth 
category. 
 
2. 
Participation in the continuation of the activities of an organisation that has been declared 
prohibited by final judicial decision or is prohibited by operation of law or against which an 
irrevocable declaratory judgment has been pronounced as referred to in Section 10:122(1) of the 
Civil Code, shall be liable to a term of imprisonment not exceeding one year or a fine of the third 
category.  
 
3. 
The terms of imprisonment for founders, directors or managers may be increased by one third. 
4.  Participation, as defined in subsection (1), shall also include the provision of financial or other 
material support as well as the raising of funds or the recruitment of persons on behalf of the 
organisation defined in said subsection.
