importance. I think that cultural community, music scientists, master artists, 
compositors, writers, journalists and a great number of devotees should express their 
opinion and criticize this kind of problems.
So, the “5 Initiatives” was organized by the President of the Republic of 
Uzbekistan indicated several important tasks and decisions to learn the music art and its 
importance and maintenance. Such kind of situations which is not appropriate to our 
national aging and views, but, nowadays, popularizing negative habits should be 
expected as a quick-spreading, infectious disease. And, the same basis, we need to 
understand that such attack is a very dangerous situation.
After all, if a person’s ear becomes accustomed to light, dull tones, his or her 
artistic taste, his or her musical culture will gradually decline, and his or her spiritual 
world will be taken over by false notion.
In the end, it will be difficult for a person to accept the unique masterpieces of 
our national heritage, such as “Shashmaqom”, as well as the works of world-renowned 
composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Tchaikovsky.
To prevent such situations, to create a healthy creative environment among 
artists, to raise the spiritual world and cultural level of the younger generation, along 
with the classics of national and world music culture of our youth, modern pop art that 
suits their moods and aspirations, it is very important to create the necessary conditions 
for the widespread use of music samples, to further develop music education.
If we take the field of cinema, which is the most popular art form, it should be 
noted with satisfaction that, in due time we have created a unique creative school in this 
area. Personally, I am convinced of this fact every time I watch our classic films such as 
“Tahir and Zuhra” (Tohir va Zuxra), “Last Days” (O’tgan kunlar), “You are not an 
orphan” (Sen yetim emassan), “Gossip in the neighborhood” (Mahallada duv duv gap). 
Such truly national works not only contribute to the spiritual development of our people 
but also to the promotion of its beautiful values to the world.
Given the immeasurable impact of the art of cinema on the human mind and 
thinking, the life of society, the national cinematography during the years of 
independence is one of the most comprehensive efforts to develop the necessary 
material and spiritual conditions. As a result of the event, new films are being made
covering various topics related to our history and modern life.
It is gratifying that Uzbek films are winning prizes at prestigious international 
festivals. But, it is also fair to say that the image of a modern hero, which has a 
profound effect on the education of young people, has not yet been created on our 
movie screens. Most of the films that are being shot show the real picture of our 
filmmakers today, their inability to deeply feel its acute problems, their distance from 
the lives of ordinary people.
Much can be said about the reason for this. However, one of the main reasons is 
that there were no higher education institutions in Uzbekistan in the field of 
cinematography. Unfortunately, the few Uzbek directors and screenwriters who studied 
at the film institute of the former Soviet Union were specialists who were alienated 
from the national spirit and the negative consequences of such a situation are still 
present in the work of many of our filmmakers has been preserved so far.
