BEST PRACTICE OF TEACHING VOCABULARY THROUGH 
LISTENING

As you know communication is the basis of human talk. People communicate 
verbally, in written forms or using body language. Comprehending a partner’s 
speech is a crucial element of communication. Apart from dialogues are the 
examples of a comprehended communication. If one part misses the overall idea of 
the context, it spoils smooth conversation and causes misunderstanding. Being able 
to listen and understand someone’s speech is important in language learning. 
Because the learners use different ways of communication during and beyond the 
class. Having a good vocabulary is the essential part of communication. As, 
learners listen each other and they comprehend differently. A receiver with good 
vocabulary basis, can understand 80-100% of the information carried by a speaker. 
Thus, a student who has basic, essential vocabulary skill can understand a teacher 
and his/her groupmates during ESP classes. However scientists of the Rep ublic 
carry out fundamental and applied research in many areas of modern science. The 
republic has world-class research schools and investigations in many areas are 
successfully conducted. 
Thus learning and teaching vocabulary is considered one of the most 
challenging and crucial element of a foreign language learning. In order to 
progress in any foreign language, learners need to be able to comprehend what 
they are reading and hearing. Obviously, communicating and making speech in 
target language is natural and simple for human beings. However, when it comes 
to foreign language, there may appear some complications and shortages while 
interacting with people since people do not have enough vocabulary range. As 
learning vocabulary is the most important and difficult part of a language learning 
it requires a lot of practice and experience. It is estimated that students get as much 
as 90% of their in-school information by listening to their teachers and to one 
another .While learning to read is a valuable skill for students to acquire, without a 
good foundation of frequently-used words, reading texts at best can be an 
inefficient use of students' time and at worse, could lead to frustration, disinterest 
and resignation from the task. To acquire a more advanced vocabulary, li stening 
may be an excellent alternative to reading. Typically blending interactive 
vocabulary-building exercises together with aural input is a logical first step 
toward getting students' language up and running. Although activities such as the 
ones presented in this paper take longer to prepare and set up than conventional 
exercises, providing opportunities to interact with vocabulary should be a p riority 
in every language classroom. Similarly the intention of this thesis was to assess the 
situation among adult learners of English who attend several types of language 
courses in terms of their specific needs and wishes.

To sum up we can say by developing their ability to listen well we develop
our students' ability to become more independent learners, as by hearing accurately 
they are much more likely to be able to reproduce accurately, refine their 
understanding of grammar and develop their own vocabulary. Despite being one of 
our most important and most often used modalities, listening is an area of langu age 
instruction that is often overlooked by teachers and researchers alike as fertile 
ground for the enhancement of students' vocabulary knowledge. For low -level 
learners, especially those not in full control of the first 2000 most -frequent words 
of English, listening may be the fastest route to acquiring a larger, more effective 
and retained vocabulary. At higher levels, word learning can also be enhanced 
through exposure to aural input. Incorporating a variety of vocabulary -based 
activities into listening exercises will help strengthen students' understanding of
