The indirect interrogative clause

The hypothetical clause is often used in indirect speech.

Je me demande si elle aura son bac. 

I am wondering if she will graduate from

    

 high school.

Nous nous demandons quand leur 

We’re wondering when their plane will arrive.

The infinitive clause

The infinitive clause is either used alone or follows a conjugated verb. As expected, this clause 

always contains an infinitive. It is important to note that the corresponding construction in Eng-

lish is the gerund clause.

Dîner dans ce restaurant est une 

Dining in this restaurant is an extraordinary

  experience inouïe. 

 experience.
