Objective: to enable pupils to understand and write the times
Play the DVD. The pupils watch the clocks and the sounds at
first. When they finish, you may ask some pupils what the sen-
tences, for example, “it’s nine o’clock.” and “it’s nine thirty.”
might be in the mother tongue. After you get satisfactory an-
swers, play the DVD the second time having the pupils repeat the
times in chorus. The third time they will write the times in their
Workbooks on Page 47.
DVD script:
1. A clock showing 12:00, then the sentence “it’s twelve
o’clock.” appears and then its sound; 2. A clock showing 12:30,
then the sentence “It’s twelve thirty.” appears and then its sound;
3—6. in the same manner the following times, sentences and
sounds appear: 4:00 — it’s four o’clock. 4:30 — it’s four thirty.
6:00 — it’s six o’clock. 6:30 — it’s six thirty.
