Do you think murderers deserve the death penalty?

I d o n ’t agree with the death penalty, but it is difficult to know w hat to 

do  with  m urderers.  K eeping  som eone  in  prison  costs  a  lot  o f m oney 

and it can be a relatively easy life - they might not have their freedom , 

but nor do they have to w ork and worry about money. B ut I’m wary of 

the death penalty for two reasons: firstly, because if som eone has been 

wrongly  accused  then  the  death  penalty  is  irreversible;  and  secondly, 

because  it feels  like you  are  lowering yourself to  their level.  It  m akes 

m urder  an  acceptable  form   of punishm ent  -  and  th at  is  a  dangerous 

p recedent to set.
