  No,  I haven’t ever volunteered to help protect wild anim als or the en ­

vironm ent,  but  I  would  like  to  in  the  future.  Protecting  the  environ­

m ent  is  really  im p o rtan t  to  me.  W e  only  have  one  E a rth   and  once 

things are  destroyed or extinct, we can’t get them  back.

What  very  endangered species  o f anim als  can you  think  of?  (Do you 

know why they are endangered?)

Well,  I  know th at tigers are very endangered - th ree types of tiger are 

already extinct. They are endangered for several reasons - their habitats 

have been destroyed due to hum an population grow th and expansion, 

and they are also hunted by hum ans. T heir body parts are used in tra ­

ditional A sian  m edicine  and their fur is sold on the black  m arket.
