Diagnosis of Tubuloglomerular Relationship in 
Patients with Metabolic Syndrome

Abstract
: 
At the beginning of the XXI century, an increase in the 
number of patients with metabolic syndrome is observed 
throughout the world. In the USA, more than 1% of men 
suffer from this disease, and in some regions of the 
Ukrainian population, the prevalence reaches 429 cases 
per 100 thousand population. The functional state of the 
kidneys in metabolic syndrome, as the main organ for 
excreting uric acid (MC), determines the severity of the 
condition and, as a result, the prognosis of the disease. 
The mechanisms of kidney damage in gout and methods 
of early diagnosis are being studied. It is known that 
long-term deposition of sodium monourate crystals in 
tubulointerstitial tissue (TIT) of the kidneys leads to its 
inflammation and the expression of various chemokines, 
cytokines with further development of tubular atrophy 
and fibrosis of the interstitial tissue of the kidneys.
