WiFi NETWORK STANDARDS AND THEIR ADVANTAGES

There are several varieties of WLAN-networks, which differ in the organization of the signal, 
data transmission speeds, network radius, as well as the characteristics of radio transmitters and 
receivers. The most widely used wireless network standard IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 
802.11n, IEEE 802.11ac and others. The first in 1999 were approved specifications 802.11a and 
802.11b, however, the most widespread devices made according to the standard 802.11b. 
Wi-Fi 802.11b standard
The 802.11b standard is based on the Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) broadband 
modulation method. The entire working range is divided into 14 channels, separated by 25 MHz to 
eliminate interference. Data is transmitted on one of these channels without switching to the others. 
Perhaps the simultaneous use of only 3 channels. The data transfer rate may automatically change 
depending on the level of interference and the distance between the transmitter and receiver. 
The IEEE 802.11b standard implements a maximum theoretical transfer rate of 11 Mbps, which 
is comparable to a 10 BaseT Ethernet cable network. It should be noted that this speed is possible 
when transmitting data with one WLAN device. If a larger number of subscriber stations are 
simultaneously operating in the environment, the bandwidth is distributed among all and the data 
transfer rate per user drops.
