Bog'liq stylistic features of irony in Ubzek and English short stries
CONCLUSION The research, carried out in this work is dedicated to the study of structuralsemantic characteristic of stylistic device ―irony, examination of its functioning in text of different functional styles and also discovery and description of pragmatic aspect’s actualization of given stylistic device. The course paper is done on the basis of linguostylistics and linguopragmatics.
Analysis of concrete language material results confirmed the necessity of allocation. Pragmatic aspect of the stylistic device ―irony functioning in the literary text. In detail examination of stylistic device ―irony’s structuralsemantic characteristic contributed to discovery of peculiarities of it’s functioning in different functional styles texts. One of the scientific peculiarities of ―irony functioning in different functional styles texts is a high frequency of its usage in literary text in comparison with official-business style texts and the style of scientific prose.
Also it would be noted enough high frequency of this stylistic devices usage in oral speech. Examination of irony is the process of its functioning in concrete communicative-pragmatic contexts is taken on the basis of linguopragmatic interpretation of language unit.
Pointed analysis of procedure, elaborated by civic and foreign linguists, contained a range of successive stages: – description of language unit’s semantic-stylistic and pragmatic potential. – definition of communicative-pragmatic context’s limits in which are reflected and verbally presented the factors of communicative pragmatic information. – discovery of contextual signals, pointing out to occasional pragmatic sense’s character and its correlation with stylistic sense.
The interaction between the primary dictionary meaning and a meaning which is imposed on the word by a micro-context may produce different types of stylistic devices and expressive means.
The stylistic devices that based on contrary concepts is called irony or simply, it is best known as acquire of speech in which there is a gap or incongruity between what a speaker or a writer says, and what is understood. While classifying Irony in to same subdivisions at first, we can come across stable (there is the constant meaning) and unstable ironics (there is not constant meaning); then it is necessary to distinguish Dramatic structural, verbal and cosmic (Irony and Fate) Irony. The use of Irony is very widely use in literary text and speech. Another important observation must be form in mind when analyzing the linguistic nature of irony. As irony is generally used to convey negative meaning, there fore only positive concepts may be used in their logical dictionary meanings.
The contextual meaning always conveys the negation of the positive concepts embodied in the dictionary meaning.
To seem up all above mentioned it is possible to state that study of irony in English is very interesting, disputable and important subject in stylistics and this field of study needs further investigation.
