My name is John. I am Englishman. I have a family. My family is not large. I have father and mother. My father and mother are my parents. I am their son. My mother’s name is Svetlana. She is a doctor. My father’s name is Mr. Dale. He is a driver. I have a sister and brother too. My sister’s name is Jane. She is a pupil. My brother’s name is Peter. He is a little boy. He is 5 years old. We live in London. My sister has a friend. His name is Andrew. He is a student. He has grandmother and grandfather. We have many relatives: aunt, cousins and 2 uncles.

My day

At 7 o’clock the alarm clock rings and I jump out of bed. I open the window, do my bed and switch on the tape recorder. I do my gymnastics to music. Then I go to the bathroom, clean my teeth, wash my face and hands. While I dress my mother cooks breakfast ready in the kitchen. She lays the table for breakfast. After breakfast we leave home. I am a pupil of the 5^th (fifth) form. My school is near my house. 6 times a week I go to school. I walk there. My mother goes by bus. I stay at school till 2 o’clock. After school I come home, wash and have dinner. In the evening I do my lessons and help my mother. Sometimes I have a walk with my friends. I go to bed at 10 o’clock.

Meals

I have three meals a day: breakfast, dinner and supper. I don’t have lunch. For breakfast my mother and I have bread and butter, eggs, ham and sausage. We drink a cup of tea or coffee. I like tea with sugar. My father likes strong coffee. My mother drinks coffee with milk. We often eat porridge for breakfast. After school I have dinner at 2 o’clock. I eat salad, soup, potatoes and cutlets, and vegetables. I like stewed fruit and my sister doesn’t drink it. She drinks tea with jam. In the evening when we are at home, we have supper at 7 o’clock. We eat meat or cheese, bread and butter and drink tea.

My flat

I have a flat. It is in a new five-storey house. Our flat is on the ground floor. It is a fine three room flat. It has all modern conveniences: running water, gas, electricity, central heating and air conditioner. We have a sitting room, a bathroom, a bedroom and a lavatory in our flat. There are armchairs, a sofa, a TV set in the sitting room. On the floor there is a big nice carpet. There are some posters on the wall. We also have many flowers in this room. Sometimes we have tea or watch TV in this room. We usually have our meals in the kitchen, our kitchen is large, and there is much air there. There is a gas stove, a table and chairs there. We like our flat very much.
