Winter

Winter is the fourth season. December, January and February are winter months. In winter it is cold. All the rivers and ponds are frozen. The ground is covered with snow. Trees and bushes are covered with snowflakes. In winter children like to play snowballs and make snowmen. We like to ski and skate. And we like to sledge. In winter we have great fun.

The snow is falling The wind is blowing The ground is white All day and all night. The sun is shining The flowers are blooming The sky is blue The rains are few.

The trees are green The skies are seen Grey winter’s gone away The world looks new and gay. The summer is over The trees are bare There’s mist in the garden And frost in the air.

Navruz.
March 21 is the holiday of Navruz. In cities towns and villages people of Uzbekistan celebrate Navruz, the eastern New Year. This holiday means the awaking of nature and promotes friendship, cultural and historical traditions.
A week before the people take part in a republic wide khashar.
Navruz is also a holiday of mercy. On this day people forgive one another their old offences and visit lonely people who need their care.
Women cook delicious food such as palov, shashlik, naryn, vanty. But the kind is sumalak. Usually the women of the neighbourhood take part in the cooking. Sumalak boiled more than 24 hours. There are washed river stones and nuts at the bottom of big cauldrons.
According to custom who get a stones will be happy and their dreams will come true.
About my friend.
I have a friend. His name is Malik. He is my schoolmate. Malik is very good at playing computer games, chess. I also like to play chess. That’s why we became close friends. We also like to play football. After finishing school we’ll try to enter the University of National Economy. We are also neighbours. We live on the same street. We often spend time together. We go to the stadium or to the cinema, discuss books and events that take place in our country and abroad.
