Limpet adjectives (or, Clichés)
Some  adjectives  are  so  often  attached  to  certain  nouns  that  they  seem
permanently stuck together and have become clichés . Please do not stick these
in your writing:
absolute
truth
personal friend
close
proximity
safe haven
end result
tuna fish
free gift
unexpected

surprise
new
innovation
work colleague
Rule:  Verbs  and  nouns  are  the  ‘grafters’  of  a  sentence.  They  do  the  work.
Adjectives and adverbs are the tea makers. If an adjective or adverb doesn’t add
anything, don’t add it.
See Me After Class: The object is small in size, square in shape and blue in
colour.
Do not waste words on unnecessary description. The object is small, square and
blue says it all.
