MVC RODEO WRAPS UP SEASON AT COLLEGE NATIONAL FINALS RODEO
Marshall, Mo. (June 16, 2013)- The Missouri Valley College rodeo finished their 2012-2013 seasons at the College Nationals Final Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyo. Saturday. A total of nine MVC rodeo team members competed at the event, with three members of the men’s team placing in the top 10 in their respective events. The men’s team finished No. 14 and the women’s team placed No. 30 in the team standings.
On the men’s side Sophomore Tim O’Connell (Zwingle, Iowa) finished No. 5 in the standings in the bareback riding competition, Freshman Dalton Kingery (Monroe, Iowa) placed No. 31 in saddle bronc riding, Sophomore Travis Smith (West Plains, Mo.) ended No. 8 in bull riding, Senior Cody Metsker (Taylorville, Ill.) placed No. 35 and Sophomore Caleb Buchanan (High Springs, Fla.) placed No. 41 both in steer wrestling and Junior Ben Runyon (Tallula, Ill.) finished No. 4 in team roping.  

Competing this week at the CNFR on the women’s side is Sophomore Kacey Struxness (Appleton, Minn.) finished No. 28 in breakaway roping and No. 51 in goat tying, Senior Kelsey Davis (Belmont, N.C.) placed No. 29 in barrel racing and Junior Chelsey Merrigan (Conception Junction, Mo.) placed No. 19 place in breakaway roping.
