INTRODUCTION
Good day, dear Readers! I am glad that You take this book in order to get acquinted with it! So, this book, considering all the aspects of graphic design, is made up with the basic acknowladgements about the fundamentals of graphic design. The information given below each chapter is gathered from the references and the necessary one is selected. Basically, the graphic design divides into two: the elements of graphic design and the principles of graphic design. Each section has ten chapters.
Section 1 – Basic Elements of Graphic Design
Chapter 1 – Space
Space in graphic design refers to the distance around the area between the visual elements of composition. In graphic design space is used to separate the visual elements in order to create an emphasis or to connect them in order to create relation between the elements. Depending on the use of spacing it conveys different meanings as quality, solitude, cleanliness, purity, spirituality, openness and calmness.
According to its position space is divided into to types: positive and negative(white space).
Positive – It is an area between the surface of the visual elements itself. For instance, it can be the surface of a point, line, shape, form, type, texture or even an image. See the following picture:
Negative space – It is a blank background behind the visual elements of composition. Simple example can be the space between the letters that people usually write. Negative space sometimes is called white space because it is usually used for describing the space on the white surface (for ex. A4 paper). See the following picture:

Chapter 2 – Point
A point is considered to be the next visual element after the space and it is also the simplest visual element among others. However, in fact, a point is a building block for other visual elements. As points inrease in size we start to see them as a shape, but it still retains its point-like characteristics. A point is mostly used in UI/UX designing in order to create a particular symbolism. For instance, a point mainly means the end of the sentence. It becomes an order mark when we use it in a list, it becomes a waiting symbol when we put three points in a row (as in the sentence to show a pause), it becomes a dividing symbol when it is placed between the visual elements of composition and etc.
