Mr. Albert Eugene Witherow, 74, of Lewisburg died April 26, 2001, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was born April 11, 1927, and was the son of the late Thomas W. and Anna Tarpley Witherow. He was a retired dairy farmer. Funeral services were held April 29 at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Witherow of Lewisburg; son Steve W. Witherow of Lewisburg; two daughters, Kathey Darnell of Belfast and Lesa Malone of Pulaski; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Witherow, 85, were conducted on Wednesday afternoon, November 9, at 2:00 o’clock in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. The Revs. Clarence K. Stewart and MackPinkelton officiated. Mrs. Witherow died Monday night, November 7, at Fairhaven Nursing Home, after a short illness. She was born in Giles County, on February 5, 1881, the daughter of the late Jackson Gilmore and Margaret Barry Tarpley. Her husband, Thomas Walter Witherow, died in 1943. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Charlie Dugger, Pulaski, Miss Martha Witherow, Lynnville, Mrs. Dewey Barker, Athens, Ala., and Mrs. Sid Dugger, Murray, Ky.; five sons, Joe and Thomas, both of Pulaski, Robert, Lynnville, James, Cornersville, and Albert Witherow, Belfast; thirty-seven grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Tarpley, Lawrenceburg, Russell and Thomas Tarpley, both of Pulaski. Funeral services for Thomas Walter Witherow, 66, who died early Friday morning, December 24, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charlie Dugger, in Pulaski, were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Mt. Moriah Church, conducted by Rev. J. W. Bryson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Pulaski. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Mr. Witherow, a farmer of the Nineteenth Civil District, united with the Presbyterian Church at the age of eighteen years, and several years later transferred his membership to the Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Witherow is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Tarpley Witherow; four daughters, Mrs. Dewey Barker, Athens, Ala., Mrs. Charlie Dugger, Mrs. Sid Dugger, and Miss Martha Witherow, all of Pulaski; six sons, John, Joe, and Albert Witherow, all ofGiles County, Thomas Witherow of Sylacauga, Ala., James Witherow, U. Mr. George Braly Zeigler, 81, of Jacksonville, Ill, died April 11, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Mr. Zeigler was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Giles Countynear the Bodenham community and was the son of the late Charles Franklin and Ruby Braly Zeigler. He served in Persia during World War IIas an Armystenographer. His responsibilities included transcribing the minutes of the Teheran Conference between Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill in 1943. He also entered the intelligence field, serving in the Office of Strategic Services, and after the war, wih the Central Intelligence Agency. After leaving government service, Mr. Zeigler began working for Capitol Records in 1962 and served as personnel director of the record company's plant from its opening in 1965 until 1978 whe he became Capitol's corporate personnel director in Hollywood, Calif. He retired from that position in 1981. Mr. Zeigler was a member of the Literary Union and was a supporter of the Jacksonville Public Library and Illinois College. Funeral services were held April 14 at Williamson Funeral Home in Illinois. In addition, a memorial service was held April 26 at Mt. Moriah Church in Giles County. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery Survivors include wife Zeigler of Jacksonville, Ill; daughter Susan Scott of St. Louis, MO; sons, Robert Zeigler of Indianapolis, Ind., and Steven Zeigler of Portland, Ore.; sister Jane Trammell of Brentwood; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Ruby Pittard Zeigler, 65, wife of Smith Waters Zeigler, died at 1:30 o’clock Thursday morning, April 1, at the home at Pulaski, following more than a years’ illness. Funeral rites will be held at 10 o’clock Friday morning in the chapel of Bennett-May Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam R. Dodson, Jr., pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot in Mount Moriah Cemetery near Pulaski. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born July 4, 1888, the daughter of the late Charles G. Pittard and Metta Harwell Pittard. She was a member of First Methodist Church and its missionary society and the East Hill Home Demonstration Club. In addition to her husband, a retire post office employee; Mrs. Zeigler is survived by one son, Billy Smith Zeigler, employee of The Pulaski Citizen; and two brothers, Tom A. Thursday at Bennett-May Funeral Home, the Rev. Billy Craighead and Rev. Joe Bennett officiating, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. A native of Giles County, he was born on October 4, 1880, the son of Luke Thompson and Virginia Ann Smith Zeigler. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Presbyterian Church, and the National Council of Jr. Order of United American Mechanics. Members of the latter will serve as pallbearers. His wife, the former Ruby Pearl Pittard, died in April, 1954. He is survived by one son, Billy Zeigler, of Pulaski, and a step-sister, Mrs. Lucille Kennedy of Memphis.
